Kathy Cern, EMT-P, EMS-I
Kathy has been the EMS Coordinator for Cleveland Clinic Akron General since 2009. She has been employed at Akron General since 1991, the first 18 years as a medic in the Emergency Department. She was a part time Firefighter/Paramedic for 24 years with the Richfield Fire Department before becoming EMS Coordinator at AGMC full time. She is a state certified EMS instructor as well as an ACLS and BLS Instructor. She actively participates in hospital disaster preparedness having traveled several times to the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston Alabama to attend many FEMA classes. She is a certified FEMA HERT (Hospital Emergency Response Team) instructor and works closely with regional partners to train hospital employees in decontamination and disaster preparedness. Kathy and her husband Matt live in Richfield, Ohio.
